West Kent, 27 Viceroy Avenue, opened its doors for students in January, 1963. Staff and Students are gearing up for an Anniversary Celebration in May 2013 to mark this occasion. West Kent has gone through many changes from opening in the suburbs to being a French Immersion School, struggles with a large student population bursting at the seams to fighting to stay open with dwindling student numbers. This has all added to the close knit community that is West Kent. We have many families at West Kent that cannot only say that a student’s parents went to this school, but can trace grandparents to the original West Kent School on Kent Street. We also have teachers who spent their early years as students right in the very classrooms they teach in!
